EXTREME BOLDS: BBG had the privilege of acquiring the founding male and females of this striking bloodline, 3 of the boldest striped geckos in existence, from Brittney Gougeon of PacHerp. Halloween Mask "Bandit" Bold Stripes with an essential pinch of secret genetics, this exclusive BBG line combines the best of the traits characterizing these line-bred morphs to produce a distinctly stunning appearance, including very bold and elaborate head markings, unique nose bands, very bold stripes, and melanistic accents. Most display a four-eye pattern on the head, and many hold lavender into adulthood and despite breeding. The variation exhibited by the offspring presents a myriad of options for the line breeder.
ULTRA BOLDS: Since we inherited the Extreme Bold project from PacHerp four years ago, our goals has been to duplicate the phenotype of our exceptional founding male, enhancing the appearance described above, while intensifying bold body markings that embolden with age. While outcrossing our male, we produced an incredibly beautiful striped, hypermelanistic female with very intricate head markings. We bred her back to our male with superb results. Her offspring now comprise the foundation of this project. We are happy to announce that we are now consistently reproducing this line bred phenotype, our exclusive new strain of Extreme Bold. However, for now we are holding most back, having released only a few to collectors.
BANDITS, SNOW BANDITS, & BOLD STRIPE DESIGNERS: BOLD! We are currently propagating the best and boldest Bandit lines, Extreme Bold Bandits (not to be confused with our Extreme Bolds), descended 100% from pure Tremper lineage. These have not been outcrossed with any other morphs. Several times bolder than average Bolds, the color contrast produced by the very bold markings, found in the finest examples, against the varying yellow background colors and white tail of this favorite morph is simply astounding.
Our Snow Bandits, in particular, are directly descended from the original Mack Snow Bandits produced by Ron Tremper. They have been refined by line-breeding into Tremper Bandit lines, for about 7 years, to match the quality of the best, boldest Bandits. We have crossed this line to extremely bold Bandits with superb results.
In addition, we are outcrossing different lines of Bold Stripes with the Extreme Bold Bandits, which we offer as "Designer Bold Stripes." We typically grow our Bolds and Bandits to about 15 grams before offering them, as their bold markings fade dramatically prior to this size, and their quality is not fully apparent until then. (Tip: When shopping around, ask breeders when photos were taken, as Bolds/Bandits hatch with very bold and dark markings that fade dramatically before reaching 15 grams. For instance, stripes can thin out and break and the Bandit noseband can hypo out and disconnect. When in doubt, request current photos. You'll find that our Bandits and Bolds are among the very best).
BOLD STRIPE BELL ALBINOS: We marvel at the striking contrast produced by the bright tangerine coloration, bold burgundy outlines and lavender highlights of these beautiful albinos. Our collection includes arguably the boldest, yet very bright, Emerine Bell, produced by Paul Allen of the Bright Albino, and an exceptional Electric Emerine Bold Stripe Bell. The results of crossing these males to top notch Lavender and Emerine bold stripe females have been superior; consistently producing a combination of bright colors, bold markings and contrast of unparalleled quality. Specifically, our Lavender Emerine Bold Stripe Bells are distinguished by very bold stripes and markings, with lavender accents on a radiant tangerine background color. While our Electric Emerine Bold Stripe Bells are marked by a very intense tangerine background and significant carrot tail. To further enhance coloration, the best examples display a continuous double red stripe along the spine, expressed as red swirls in the jungle pattern.
TANGERINES: Our tangerines are the product of crossing and line breeding, the best lines of tangerine, including Blood, Torrid, Electric and Gecko Genetics (aka Mandarin). The resulting offspring have been phenomenal, ranging from intensely bright orange geckos with red highlights to dark tangerines with near red coloration. We typically grow most of these out for a while before offering them, as their coloration and carrot tail does not fully develop, and thus quality is not fully apparent, until they reach 25 to 40 grams. (Tip: When shopping for tangerines do your research. All fade to some degree, especially females after breeding, but a few lines fade much more than others. Some fade to pale yellow or brown out after a year of age, while others retain their bright color well as they age. This accounts for the difference in pricing. Networking and experience has enabled us to identify which lines retain color best to incorporate in our projects.)
BENGALS: Our bold tangerine project of five seasons. We named this project after the traditional "Tiger" label used in the hobby to describe geckos expressing tangerine and bold markings. These exhibit the traits that we cherish, including high contrast, bold markings, bright colors, as well as intricate head markings, and body pattern. ...and a few more fun projects!
